We had two weeks of lessons with a fantastic teacher. We learned a lot and had great fun. Our accommodation at Eva’s was well looked after. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed delicious meals every day. We spent an unforgettable time in Valencia.

The spanish course I followed for a week was good. The teacher, Marie-José was very friendly, patient and organized interactive, challanging and fun excercises. I can recommend this school and especially Marie José as a teacher.

ELE Aleph is a pleasant and friendly school. The teachers are excellent: young, motivated, and knowledgeable. The school is located in a beautiful part of Valencia. The group I joined was very diverse, both in terms of people and ages (16–66 years old). In one week (20 hours of lessons), I learned a great deal, although this was partly because I also practiced intensively outside class. The content of the lessons was generally good, although personally I would have preferred a faster pace and less repetition. There were actually two groups: one that had 10 hours of lessons per week (5 days of 2 hours per day) and one that had twice as many hours (which I was in). In practice, this meant that the first two hours each day were taught jointly, after which the group with twice as many hours continued for another two hours. The following day, the material covered during the additional hours with the second group was briefly repeated for the first group. I actually feel that this puts the second group, with its 20 lessons, at a disadvantage. If I had known this beforehand, I would not have chosen it. I also think more material could have been covered if we had not continually been combined with the first group. A slightly more individual approach, allowing the faster students to do more than the slower ones, would also have been better. A lot of time was lost because there were students in the group who needed much longer to understand things. I understand that differentiating is difficult, but education today should be able to do this. Some digital tools would have strengthened the whole process. Finally, something about the accommodation. Pleasant, certainly, but not comfortable. Four hours of lessons a day in a chair with a folding table! Not really great. Given the price of the course, I did not expect a luxury armchair with a laptop and other facilities, but a proper table to work at was surely not too much to ask. I noticed absolutely nothing of any activities: nothing was organized! The shared apartment turned out to be a room in a student house, where the other residents had nothing to do with ELE Aleph. Fine in itself, but I had imagined it differently (although obviously that is my own fault). The room was fine, and the kitchen was like a typical student-house kitchen, with the countertop always full of dirty dishes.
